The 1^5thNational Assembly (NA), at its 8^thsession, adopted a resolution on the establishment of centrally-run Hue bet88 con on November 30.

Under the resolution, which will come into effect from January 1, 2025, bet88 con be based on the entire natural area of 4,947.11 sq.km and a population of 1,236,393 from the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

According to the resolution, the National Assembly tasked the NA Standing Committee with determining the arrangement and establishment of district and commune-level administrative units within Hue bet88 con, ensuring that these changes take effect simultaneously with the resolution. Agencies, organizations, and units whose names are tied to the province of Thua Thien-Hue will be renamed to reflect the bet88 con’s new status.
